Family means everything to us and is the foundation that Crossing Lodges was built upon. What started as a family dream became a reality in 2021 when we set off on an 8000-mile journey from the Netherlands to South Africa to find the perfect location for an African Safari Lodge.
From the moment you arrive at Elephants Crossing or Zebras Crossing, you immediately become part of the Crossing Lodges family. Our friendly team will welcome you with open arms and make you feel at home. As with family, we make sure that every guest is well-taken care of and enjoys every experience here at Crossing Lodges.

ELEPHANTS CROSSING
We wanted our guests to be able to experience an authentic African Safari and the only way we could achieve that was by extending out to the Welgevonden Game Reserve, home to the Big Five. We thought that this was the perfect location that would offer our guests an all-around experience of living in the bush with African wildlife. The way to do that was by creating a luxurious tented camp and a cinematic deck with views of the surrounding nature and wildlife as they pass by.

Food is one of life’s pleasures and brings people and families together. A delicious hearty breakfast is a perfect way to start the day off, especially when heading off on an action-packed day full of excitement and thrilling adventures.
Start the day off by filling up on an assortment of delicious food, fruits, yoghurts, cereals and cold meats, carefully chosen and put together by our amazing Chef, Iddie.
His food shows his passion, and his attention to detail and creativity shows in his beautifully presented food and every plate of food showcases his culinary skills.

| WILDLIFE UPDATE |
| Our guests certainly had a thrilling game drive experience with some amazing sights of the Big Five going about their day in their natural habitat. Spotting a lion is always high on the ‘must see’ list during a safari game drive, fortunately for our guests, we are located on Welgevonden Game Reserve which is home to a bustling lion population. So it was a great sight for our guests to witness a lioness in all her glory in the sunshine. World Rhino Day is coming up in September, a day of awareness for all five species of rhino and the work being done to protect them from poachers. As part of the Big Five, seeing a Rhino is always an exciting moment, with so few Rhinos left in the world, it’s a privilege to be able to experience one in their natural environment. As we were driving, our lucky guests managed to take a stunning photo of a crocodile basking in the sun. Join us on your next getaway to experience these sightings for yourself! |
